This ancient statue represents Queen Gudit, Gwedit, Yodit, Judith with descendants of Zagwé dynasty. Located in the center, she symbolizes the strength of a queen with a strong character.
On her left, it is probably one of the daughters, softer, hands wrapped. To her right, there is a young princess, her hands fold as Christian. To recap, the Zagwé dynasty is the source of building majestic churches of Lalibela monoliths in the XIIth century. Quite below, one can see inscription in Gu’ez, Ethiopian liturgical language.
