Ethiopian Iconographic art is different from other artistic expressions of Christianity by its nature typically african. There is no rupture between  religion and the culture of the country, so children can easily identify themselves with biblical characters depicted on icons and imitate their virtues.

On the left page, one of the scenes of Christ's passion is represented. We see him carrying the cross, folowed by two soldiers. On the right, you can see Jesus, crucified with Mary and Joseph watching over him.
